Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus
Qualify and receive up to $10,000 for Energy-Efficient Renovations
Natural Resources Canada and Enbridge Gas has combined their rebates to bring you a joint incentive program in Ontario where you could be eligible for retrofit incentives of up to $10,000.
Through a series of incentives, the Canada Greener Home grant and the Home Efficiency Rebate Plus gives Ontario homeowners an opportunity to reduce green house gas emissions and reduce energy costs.
To participate in the Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate you must meet the following requirements:
- The homeowners primary residence including all primary heating fuel types:
- Natural Gas, oil, propane, electricity, wood
- This includes off-grid communities-not currently connected to the North American grid nor to the piped natural gas network
- Homes which are not the owner’s primary residence heated by natural gas in Enbridge Gas franchise
Eligible dwelling types that are included:
- Single and semi-detached houses
- Row housing
- Townhomes
- Mobile homes on a permanent foundation
- Permanently moored floating homes
- Mixed use buildings (residential portion only)
- Small multi-unit residential building (MURB) (three storeys or less with a footprint of 600m2 or less) and are not retirement homes-must either be stacked (up/down) or have common area
Technical Criteria
To be eligible, homeowners MUST meet the following criteria:
- All homeowners in Ontario qualify for the Home Efficiency Plus (HER+) program except,
- Homes where the owner does not currently live in the premise and the home does not have an active Enbridge Gas account.
- The homeowner has already started work on the upgrades before they conduct their pre-retrofit energy assessment.
- The home was built less than 6 months ago.
- The home is part of a cooperative or a multi-unit residential building (MURB) with more than 3 storeys or a footprint bigger than 600m2.
- Less than 50 percent of the building is residential living space.
- Homeowners who have already gone through the Home Efficiency Rebate (HER) or Canada Greener Homes Grant (CGHG) programs and maxed out their incentive at $5,000 for non-Enbridge Gas customers and $10,000 for Enbridge Gas customers.
- For the enhanced Enbridge Gas rebates funded by Enbridge Gas,
- You must be an Enbridge Gas customer and reside or own property in the Enbridge Gas franchise service areas at the time of the pre-retrofit energy assessment. Or be converting to Enbridge Gas natural gas.
- You must:
- Use a Natural Resources Canada approved Registered (NRCan) Energy Advisor.
- Complete a pre- and post-energy assessment from the same Registered Energy Advisor.
- Complete at least one qualifying upgrade recommended by the Registered Energy Advisor. For resiliency measures and the thermostat measures you must complete another measure beyond these.
- All participants must provide a copy of their invoices, proof of address and property tax bill before the Registered Energy Advisor can submit the file for payment.

Complete your Retrofit to be Eligible
To qualify for Enbridge Home Efficiency Rebate Plus, you must complete at least 1 of the following upgrades:

Book your Post Retrofit Home Energy audit

STEP 4
Receive your rebate cheque from Enbridge
Enbridge will send you a rebate cheque based on the upgrades you completed; in addition, you will enjoy further savings on each utility bill year after year.
The final rebate cheque will include a $600 reimbursement to offset the cost of both the initial and final energy audit.

Book your Post Retrofit Home Energy audit

STEP 4
Receive your rebate cheque from Enbridge
Enbridge will send you a rebate cheque based on the upgrades you completed; in addition, you will enjoy further savings on each utility bill year after year.
The final rebate cheque will include a $600 reimbursement to offset the cost of both the initial and final energy audit.
